NEWSFLASH..............SAMMY FOALED A BEAUTIFUL PALOMINO TB COLT AT MIDNIGHT 29th /30TH APRIL 2008

A 'Broodmare Diploma' has been awarded to Sammy (Samba Beat) by The British Equestrian Federation for her colt Aurumba receiving a 'First Premium' at The Futurity Young Horse Evaluations at Plumpton 2009

This is Sammys page :-)
Sammys registered name is Samba Beat and she is a 15.1hh Chesnut thoroughbred mare by Efisio out of Special Beat born on 28th February 1999

I bought Sammy with the intentions of using her as a broodmare although I may well ride her at a later stage as she will make a gorgeous small show hack.

Sammy is a little sweetheart and it's hard to imagine her a mean lean racing machine lol..but she was pretty handy on a race course :-)

She was trained by John Hills won one race, came 2nd three times, and 3rd twice and won a total of £4,483.80

She was bred at Kingwood Stud in Lambourne and the stud still has her mother, her half sister and her auntie as broodmares :-)..so she has a very good dam line to boot !

Her full brother 'Bill The King' has won over £125,000.00 in Greece.
Her half brother 'Gee Dee Nen' by Mister Baileys has 7 wins & won £93,106.00 so far.
Her half sister Queen's Dancer by Groom dancer has 3 wins & won £13,692.29
And her half brother Special Occasion by Inchinor has 2 wins & won £11,595.53 so far.

02/03/02 WOLVERHAMPTON 8 furlongs, 100 yards. Std 3 of 13 11/10f tfig 50 rat 62+ Jimmy Quinn
SAMBA BEAT is probably still in top form as though she couldn't make the most of a good opportunity at the weights, she did best of those held up, still having a lot to do 2f out from her wide draw; she's generally been most reliable this winter.

19/02/02 SOUTHWELL 8 furlongs. Std 1 of 10 11/8f tfig 60 rat 66 Jimmy Quinn
SAMBA BEAT may do better again as she showed further improvement in comfortably getting off the mark, for all that this was far from a strong race, and should be at least as effective returned to further, making good headway to lead under 2f out and just pushed clear before being eased close home; she's proving consistent.

02/02/02 WOLVERHAMPTON 9 furlongs, 79 yards. Std 2 of 8 5/2f tfig 64 rat 66 Jimmy Quinn
SAMBA BEAT is consistent and probably ran her best race yet in being placed for the fourth time in succession, chasing the winner from 4f out but making no impression late on; she should stay 1¼m+.

21/01/02 WOLVERHAMPTON 9 furlongs, 79 yards. Std 3 of 10 9/2 tfig 55 rat 53 Jimmy Quinn
SAMBA BEAT ran a perfectly creditable race, going wide early and keeping on without ever really threatening seriously; she continues to give the impression she'll be suited by more of a test of stamina.

07/01/02 WOLVERHAMPTON 9 furlongs, 79 yards. Std 2 of 10 5/1 tfig 53 rat 54 Matthew Henry
SAMBA BEAT has shown clear signs of taking to fibresand and, a daughter of a 17f winner, may improve further as her stamina is tested even more; forced to switch wide on the home bend, she did her best work at the finish.

10/12/01 SOUTHWELL 8 furlongs. Std 2 of 13 8/1 tfig 49 rat 56 Matthew Henry
SAMBA BEAT probably didn't improve for the step up in trip, but she certainly shaped as though 1m+ is going to suit her better than shorter, pushed along before the turn then running on strongly once switched right; her dam won over 17f.

18/10/01 SOUTHWELL 6 furlongs. Std 5 of 11 66/1 tfig 11 rat 51 Matthew Henry
SAMBA BEAT showed her first form switched to the all-weather, briefly improving well without getting on terms; she should stay beyond 6f.

05/10/01 LINGFIELD PARK 6 furlongs. Soft 13 of 20 40/1 tfig 2 rat Matthew Henry A muddling event in which the result is best treated with a degree of caution, very few getting competitive; the runners fanned out right across the track, and the stand-side runners seemed to hold an overall advantage for much of the way.
SAMBA BEAT no individual performance analysis.

27/08/01 FOLKESTONE 7 furlongs. Gd/Frm 12 of 14 66/1 tfig rat G. Bardwell
SAMBA BEAT has finished well held in 2 maidens.

18/07/01 KEMPTON PARK 6 furlongs. Gd/Frm 14 of 14 25/1 tfig rat Steve Drowne
SAMBA BEAT (Efisio first foal of a 17f winner who was also a fairly useful 20f winner over hurdles) was tailed off after a slow start and possibly not herself.

I decided that Sammy needed a very special stallion for her first foal lol

Well I found one but he was over in Germany!

The thoroughbred stallion I chose for her is The Alchemist..he is a big 17.hh handsome chap who will going for stallion grading this Autumn but has already got approval status with the ZSAA.

The extra special thing about him is that he is a rare cremello colour!!!..there are only 7 registered cremello thoroughbred colts in the entire world.

At the moment he and our Electrum are the only ones outside of Canada and the US.

OK so now you are wondering why I would put Sammy to a stallion that is a cremello colour when it isn't a very well liked colour with horsey folks!..well unless you already know about colour genetics I can tell you that cremello crossed with a chesnut will produce a palomino foal 100% of the time :-)

So with fingers crossed for a safe pregnancy and foaling Sammy will have a palomino thoroughbred foal next year due on May 8th 2008 :-)

She will be the first English TB mare and her foal will be the first registered as foaled in the UK in the the General Stud Book at Weatherby's!

This is a very exciting time for us and we can't wait to see Sammys foal and hopefully we will take them both showing next year :-)
